This is my first game in pico-8.  I saw this game engine and though I should give it a spin and I don't regret that decision. However I do have some gripes with the engine. First why such an ugly and utterly horrific font?  And at such scale?! Coding was actually more challenging not due to the limitation (which their weren't that many of) but because of how horrible the UI is of the IDE.  Additionally why no capital letter ?  Really was not a fan of using snakes case of just bad abbreviations.  Now on to the positive. I had a good time creating everything else for the game. The art UI is intuitive and fun to play with. The sound editor is nice and simple allowing you to make any sound effect you want with relative ease.  And every part (except the IDE) I was happy to work in. Will this be my engine of choice for the future? No ... probably. It is very easey to create simple prototypes. And the limits stop you from doing too much so maybe I would use  this as a way to prototype my game before hand however as the main engine I would like a bit more. Over I had a good time and I would recommend that all game developer give it a run just to see what they can achieve.
